On behalf of AGC (Asian Golf Club), John Wolf (Executive Director) have asked me to pass the word on to all Asian golfers out there and the people that want to learn golf. The event are free........ includes Par-3 9-holes shoot out, putting contest, long drive contest, and tips from teaching pros. John said if possible each person should bring Asian dish/culture food and soft drink, he'll have table set up w/CD players. Also, bring your own music (i.e. Lao, Cambodian, Thai, etc.). It has been official that the 2nd Annual AGC Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday July 21, 2002 at the Triggs Memorial Golf Course in Providence, RI.  After a successful 2002 Winter Open held at this course early this year, we have decided to come back to this course again for our annual tournament.  Triggs designed by Donald Ross has been rated as one of the best public golf course in the area.  Click on here for more information.

Cape Cod Golf Trip:

9 AGC members got together and head out to Cape Cod to play on the beautiful Ballymeade Country Club golf course.  This course is one of the best course on Cape Cod, MA.  The peak season rate goes as high as $90 but we played there for on $25 during the spring twilight rate.  What a deal!  To earn the bragging rights, we have our own mini tournament using the the best ball scoring system.  Check here to see the pictures.

2002 Winter Open:

AGC kicks off the golf season early this year with the 2002 Winter Open  at the Triggs Memorial Golf Course in Providence, RI.  With the excitement and enthusiasms of the members who started the club last year along with many new golfers who take advantage of the mind weather came out and started the golf season early.  To make the game more challenging and enjoying as it is, the members hosted its first Winter Open on March 2, 2002 at Triggs, one of the best public course in the area.  17 die hard golfers came out that day despite the 40's degree weather with wind and some area of the rough still cover with snow.  They all played their own game and didn't have to worry about the handicap because of the Callaway Scoring System. 

The big winner goes to Victor who take home the lowest net score and closest to the pin titles with trophy and cash.  Bounxou (Keo) earn of the title of have the lowest gross score shooting 84.  Mikey, the defending champ of last year tournament take home the long drive on the front 9 and Sarky take take the long drive on the back 9.  The other closest to the pin went to Okham.  Click here or on the picture below and enjoy and relive the moments with these pictures.

The Asian Golf Club (AGC) is formly known as Asian Amature Golf Society (AAGS), started last year by a group of friends who enjoy the game of golf.  The purpose of the club is to allow Asian golfers of all level in the New England area to gather and share the excitement and enthusiasms in the game of golf and to introduce golf to our friends and family.  With the commitment and dedication of the club president (Sarky) and vice president (Bounxou or Keo) started the 1st Annual AAGS Golf Tournament at the Cranston Country Club in Cranston, RI.  Mikey and Bo won the two-man scramble.  Unfortunately, we do not have any pictures to share it with you.
